On Wednesday, Heathrow: Britain’s Busiest Airport returns to ITV. The documentary series shows the behind the scenes at the UK’s biggest and busiest international airport. ITV released a trailer over the weekend and something caught our attention – the UVD Robot!
This series highlights the challenges Heathrow has faced during the COVID-19 pandemic and how it has adapted to comply with government advice to help ensure the safety of staff and passengers.
The UV-C Disinfection Robots from NESA Robotics were deployed into Heathrow as part of their new heightened cleaning methods and their ‘Fly Safe’ campaign. The robots are primarily used in the washrooms. The cleaning teams send in the robot to kill off any lingering traces of bacteria and viruses including COVID-19. This then allows the teams to complete the rest of the cleaning knowing they are in a safe environment.
